WLP Cohort 5

The Women’s Leadership Program officially welcomed its 5th Cohort of participants on September 6th, 2018. A total of twenty participants; four men and sixteen women were selected after rigorous selection process from over 500 Australia Awards Alumni in Mongolia.
The launch event was attended by Cohort 5 participants, program alumni, Honorable Graham Fletcher, First Assistant Secretary DFAT, DFAT and Australian Embassy in Mongolia representatives, Australia Awards Mongolia representatives and Zorig Foundation staff. Mr. Graham Fletcher congratulated the participants on getting selected to the program and wished them best of luck in the next eight months of program.
WLP Orientation retreat: Program orientation commenced on September 14th in Terelj National Park. Twenty participants attended the three-day intensive orientation to start their leadership journey. Orientation sessions were facilitated by Ms. Carolyn Peterken, an experienced organizational and leadership development professional, Mr. Walt Jenkins, President of Zorig Foundation USA.
Orientation sessions consisted of team building activities, assessing ones’ personality and leadership types, and learning about effective leadership and teamwork. Participants were also divided into four teams for the community development projects they will be initiating and implementing for the duration of the program.
Participants expressed their excitement for the upcoming project activities and found the orientation to be very effective as an introduction to leadership skill building.
